Finally how to achieve your Mini Purpose:
The easiest way is to set SMART goals. This stands for Specific, Measureable, Achievable, Realistic and Time Bound.
Specific: Make sure you are very detailed with your Goals.
Measurable: Make sure you have a way to see if you are progressing with your goal.
Achievable: Make sure you personally can actually carry through your goal.
Realistic: Make sure that your goal isn't too Crazy...
Time Bound: You can do it in the allotted time.
Make yearly, monthly, weekly and daily goals that are all linked so you are on top of what you are doing.
If the example James were to have chosen to write a alternate reality book these might be his goals:
Year Goal: Write a Book
January Monthly Goal: Research book types
Week Goal: Read a Fan Fiction
Daily Goal: Read up to chapter 10.
Remember there is not limit to what you can do.
